Film Fellas

Posted by Stephen under Creative, Video

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a Film Fellas series. These are always so informative and inspiring but also very intimidating and discouraging. I always think that I’m in a similar field as these guys but so behind in certain skills and knowledge. But for the most part, I just take the little gems they share and try to keep them for myself and believe that I am creating my own way.

I too love Back to the Future, coffee, not so much. If I lived in Chicago, I would definitely frequent this place quite often.

As of recently, I have become addicted to behind the scene videos. I’m not exactly sure why but I just love learning how people have done things and what they went through to produce the final images and videos they’ve produced. This is a pretty cool, slick, stylized behind the scenes. I bet it’s pretty cool to have a bottomless budget, hell the Black Card is funding the project.

The two minute commercial

Ohhhh Mississippi

I could say a lot but I wont. I’ll let the video do the explaining.

Okay, episode 1 got so many great responses that we were very anxious to shoot episode 2. This time, we switched it up a bit and shot at Lido Beach here in Sarasota. I’m really digging this episode. I think from now on we will shoot in a different location for each video. My buddy Ryan is an absolute trip!! Enjoy and spread the link around!

I think I may start posting more little known Prince songs. The more I listen to my Prince collection, I’ve realized how many songs most people probably haven’t heard. He truly has a catalog of music.

This past Friday night, I had the pleasure of shooting a fund raising event for Save Our Seabirds hosted by Shayna of Butterfly Effect in downtown Sarasota, FL. This was a great event to be a part of, it had great people, cool art and awesome snacks. My idea of a good Friday night.

So, my friend Ryan Nance, has recently created a daily post at http://rtsnance.posterous.com where he shares a small list of things he’s learned that day. When I first saw this list, I thought it was a really cool idea so I asked if he would like to possibly turn a it into a video series. He agreed and this is the first video we shot. The goal is to get the video under a 1:30 but for a first run I think it turned out pretty good. Who would have ever known this about unicorns?

I totally feel this guy. Some rules are just ridiculous and inconvenient. I’m glad someone has returned an inconvenient gesture. I’m not saying it should always be about an eye for eye but sometimes you need to show how some one else made you feel to get your point across. This is what you call “sticking it to the man”.

I love the internet

I stumbled across this site while surfing the web the other night and I listened to this song for at least an hour. I thought it was the coolest thing. It reminded me of Bobby McFerrin. I loved it so much I shot this short video of it.
